COURSE DESCRIPTION

Mappa percorsi Pogno

Saturday
PS 1 “Pogno”

The first stage of the weekend will be called “Pogno.” Starting about half way between stages two and four
The first test of this edition of Pro Superenduro dei gufi is called “Pogno” has its origin located at the Community gippabile leading New Alpe, about halfway into PS2 and PS4. Riders are allowed to reach this stage in any way they choose (bike, car, etc), the only condition is that they are there for their start time. The route will follow the new trail, “Canalon,” crossing the Rio Sant’Antonio river and downhill into the village of Prerro. Running down along Via Prerro, Via C. Borromeo and Via Regina di Martiri, finishing the stage in Piazza Alpini d’Italia.

Sunday
PS 2 “MTB I Gufi”

Starting in Pogno, the transfer to the stage heads up the road, SP32 “Creminosa,” and through Zuccaro, Orsanvenzo, Valpiana, in the direction of Madonna Sasso. Once you reach the top, turn right onto the gravel road and follow this for about 600m. Going down, the first part is smooth, flowing and fast. Towards the end of the stage the terrain changes and riders will face a series of challenging corners, before following the Rio Sant’Antonio river for 100m.

PS 3 “TEAM Locca”

Starting in the tiny village of Bertagna you will find SP32 “Creminosa” again, this time you won’t follow the road, but take the turn to the right and follow the road up past the church ending up on the outskirts of Vercelli (watch the exit out onto the road). Getting into the trail there is a short pedal at the start and then it switches into a series of gradient changes and curves that won’t give you a moment’s rest as you tackle the ridges, roots, rocks and jumps along the way.

PS 4 “CICOBIKES”

The fourth and final is called “THE MASTER.” To reach the stage you get back on “Cremosina” and go up from Vercelli, arriving at the fork in the road, but this time on the left. Take the same route as PS2 and head back up through Zuccaro, Orsanvenzo, Valpiana. The first part of the stage is the same as PS2, but when you meet the road you go into a series of fast compressions before the trail meets PS2 for its end.
