The first liaison from the Paddock Area is largely on asphalt and leads directly to the highest point of the race, 1400 m.
From here PS1 Buschicoccia begins. The first portion of the stage runs on mountain meadows along a spectacular ridge that delimits the border between two regions Umbria and Marche. After this open area the line becomes more tortuous with a series of curves within a forest. The terrain is soft and with excellent grip.
The transfer to PS2 is much shorter and follows part of the previous one.
PS2 Razzipante is the longest stage. It starts with a long section in a pines forest, initially a traverse followed by several curves and bends in succession. The terrain is always soft but covered by a layer of stones. The speed is higher at least until the most guided portion close to the crossing of the road. The stage than enters into an olive grove and then it end with some bike park curves.
At the end of PS2 the direction is that of Gualdo Tadino for Time Control.
After the Time Control to reach PS3, the liaison is much of the one made to PS1.
The PS3 Fosso Caprino begins with some beautiful turns on mountain meadows, then crosses a large area with some recent tree cutting where the trail is various with several short pedaled sections. The vegetation here becomes thicker and the difficulty of interpreting the right line increases.
To get to PS4 the transfer is really short but this also means less time to recover.
PS4 Fosso del Tasso is very fast, both in the first forest and in the lawn section. At this point the trail runs on another spectacular ridge that enters the rocky and most technical part of the race. Follows a very narrow section between dry walls and fixed stones on the ground, then some other pedaled sections and again a nice sequence of guided turns in the wood leading directly down the valley into a torrent for the last effort before the liaison to PS5.
The return to Gualdo Tadino is very easy and flat and leads directly to the start of PS5 which is a very suggestive town stage between the streets of the village.
