The race that kicks off here in Val di Fassa in just a few days is going to be a milestone in the history of the whole discipline – mountain bike enduro. Once again Superenduro, together with the crew of Fassa Bike, will draw the attention of the whole international mountain-biking community, organizing what will be the debut race of the EWS European Enduro Series.
The Enduro World Series created the Continental Enduro Series at the start of 2018; Val di Fassa was selected as the venue for the first round of the series and the Drop Down Superenduro – that in recent years has risen to the rank of the best events in the world for quality of trails and level of organization- was going to be the debut race.
Cristian Paradis, person in charge of all mountain-biking things at SITC S.p.A., – Canazei and Campitello’s lifts company – tells us: “We are delighted with the organization of this event, which confers prestige to the resort and promotes Fassabike Park. In addition, this event gives us the unique chance to showcase the wide range of mountain activities promoted by the lift companies operating in the valley and working all together with ‘Val di Fassa Lift’ trading name.

On the one side, it will be time to write an important page in the history of the discipline as the European series will make its debut here; on the other side the national Superenduro series will reach the halfway point of its tenth edition, the third and penultimate round of the championship, always fiercely fought and still very open.
For this edition the organizing crew has prepared a fantastic race that runs through all different types of terrain on offer in this beautiful region, adding many kilometres of completely new trails. One for all, the new section along the Col Rodella ridge, highly scenic but quite tricky and difficult.
Alex Lupato – at present overall leader with 920 points – won the round of Canazei in 2016. This year’s race could again be good for him, especially because the race course offers many chances to sprint and put down on the pedals some serious explosive efforts. Nicola Casadei follows him only 20 point behind; he is quick over technical terrain and is the winner of the last round, in Calestano.
Ongoing tough battle instead for the third position, amongst three terrific riders: Vittorio Gambirasio, latest Superenduro champion, now at 660 points; Matteo Raimondi (640 points) winner of the round here in Val di Fassa in 2017, and Matteo Berta (620 points), raring to get his first Superenduro victory.

Results will be made even more uncertain by the massive participation of fast riders from abroad (as we write riders from 15 different countries are expected to line up at the start), attending the round to earn points for the European Series, knowing that Superenduro and Drop Down will offer a lot of fun and a top-notch race.
Another fiercely-fought battle will take place in the Women’s Open category, amongst our countrywomen Laura Rossin, leading the series, at present, with 1000 points, Jessica Bormolini, newly crowned Italian Champion who is hunting Series points, and a number of international riders, including Australia’s Rae Morrison, winner of Calestano round, ready to fight for the victory.
Val di Fassa Drop Down Superenduro is going to be a race that definitely shouldn’t be missed, and it will be easy for all enthusiasts and public to spectate trackside: following the road up to Passo Pordoi, or using the lifts up to Col Rodella and Belvedere
The Event Village downtown Canazei will welcome all enthusiasts, with the industry leading brands exposing their latest bikes and products and plenty of outdoor entertainment with the guys of FassaSport, including a multi-day adventure in the saddle of a LIV BIKE, amongst forests and mountain huts.
