On 27-28 July, the title of 2019 Superenduro Champion will be up for grabs at the last Italian EWS Qualifier competition: Abetone, a mountain venue for many yet to be discovered, will play host to the whole event.

After the organization of a successful series of gravity races, Abetone makes its Superenduro debut and enters the international enduro scene, hosting the final round of the 2019 edition of the Series, also valid as Enduro World Series Qualifier event.
The grand finale of Superenduro Series will make for a decisive race, yet unknown to many riders, as the 2019 titles are still wide open both in the Amateur and Elite Category.

4-Abetone

As per today, riders from 11 different countries have already entered the race. As a matter of fact, this is going to be the first competition in the whole Series that will take place at altitude. The trails here are fully immersed in a typical high-mountain environment, at altitudes spanning between 1,300 and 1,900 metres above sea level. With the scenery that only a mountain region can offer: exposed ridges, meadows, dense woods of fir and beech trees, all within the state-owned forested area of Abetone.
Abetone Gravity Team, local organizers, are working hard to prepare a race that will consist of 6 stages, all physical, techy and with long timed specials, for a total of 36 km and 2,600 meters of vertical drop.
Transfer stages will be in most part uplifted, thanks to a convenient and quick cable car located just in front of the event village and paddock area. Some pedalled sections will also be included, a bearable effort thanks to the shade of the woods. For this reason, during Saturday’s Open Practice the use of shuttles will not be allowed. Outside assistance (from mechanics) will instead be admitted at the Time Control in the paddock area.

This beautiful venue will add a new type of experience to enduro riding in Tuscany, a region with plenty of opportunities on offer, from the coast to high mountains. On Abetone, we will enjoy spectacular views from the top of Gomito mountain: the Tyrrhenian sea to the west, the Alps to the north and the city of Florence to the south. The perfect backdrop for an epic race that will be able to challenge athletes and machines alike.
The Race Book is available online with more info. We cannot wait to have you here: this is going to be a very special grand finale, adrenaline-fuelled and wild until the last Special Stage!
