Sauze d’Oulx an explosive cocktail for a PRO race which tastes as an international competition

Sauze d’Oulx confirms definitely the ideal place to host an important and big competition as the Superenduro. Beautiful landscapes, breathtaking tracks and an organization capable of handling all kinds of unexpected were the essential ingredients for the success of this well-deserved second stage of the Superenduro PRO circuit.
The numerous schedule changes caused by afternoon thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday did not prevent the smooth running of the event which started Sunday under bright sunshine that accompanied us throughout the day, illuminating the stunning backdrop of mountain peaks that surround the Val Susa.

The race, perhaps the most long and demanding of the circuit, has really tested the endurance of athletes and their bikes for about 6 hours of race along the paths of Sauze Freeride, reviewed and renewed for the occasion by staff.
Never as in this case is seen the paddock area crowded with bikers working on repairs and in search for the best setup to handle the special stages that run from Black Rocks to the heart of Sauze d’Oulx, with an alternation of single track in large clearings, steep and rocky portions and sometimes muddy undergrowth due to the rains the previous days.

Five in total were the special stages for a total amount of almost one hour of descent and 4000m of total elevation on spectacular trails, like the amazing Supersauze and its incredible view of the initial stretch, or the winning combination Rock Master / Fly To Bali.
Important the presence of international athletes from Belgium, England, Switzerland, France, Germany and America and ready to live and get involved Superenduro experience.
After a long career in the World Cup and four world titles in 4X, Brian Lopes, Ibis-Bike Co, is now focusing on the development of the European gravity races. His adventure began with the Maxi Avalanche, gone through the experience of the Enduro of the Nations and resulted in Superenduro, whose spirit has now crossed the ocean. Brian has appreciated very much the Italian interpretation of Enduro mainly for the format that brings him back to the origins of mountain biking.
Brian was the winner of the race, despite a very fast Lorenzo Suding who gave him an hard time in the first part of the race before a mechanical problem slowed him down and made him conclude thirteenth overall but third in SE2.

The Italian rider in better shape confirms Andrea Bruno team Ready2Ride, first in the category SE3, winner of the North West circuit, which arrived second overall ahead of David Sottocornola Team Argentina Bike. Fourth was Marco Rodolico Dream Team Asti followed by Vittorio Gambirasio Surfin Shop team, the first of SE2. Second of the SE2 places the French Victor Dubois.
Seventh overall and second in category SE4 behind Brian Lopes concludes Stefano Migliorini, Kona Bike Team, while third comes the teammate Stefano Rota.

Inside the SE1 there was a close fight between Frederick Ottonello first, David Guelfo secondo and Andrea Ferrero third. The dominant of the SE5 category instead confirms Francesco Baroni followed by Paolo Caramellino and Giovanni Barbolini. Among the many women in the race the winner was the French Louise Paulin. Behind her Marianna Uttini and Federica Zanotto.
To underline the great work by the staff of Sauze Freeride bike park, which together with Sauze In and the Municipal Amministration of Sauze d’Oulx has worked hard to ensure services and allow the development of the race.
