How many new fantastic trails you got the chance to ride during these last 7 years thanks to Superenduro? Keep this in mind: the fun is not over yet! For the Punta Ala round the staff of Bandite Trail Area has put together, under the guidance of one of the most recognized Italian trailbuilder, Marco Tiberi, a bunch of new trails that will be unveiled for the first time as race terrain only at the second round of Superenduro PRO Powered by Sram the 10 and 11 of May!

The Punta Ala Camping resort will be, as always, the beating heart of the event, with welcoming facilities tuned to the riders’ needs, bungalow immersed in the tranquility of the pine woodland a few meters away from the paddock area and from the beach, where the scenery is even more spectacular at sunset.

This round will be a critical test for many riders and it will return a preliminary verdict for a season that got already many surprises. Marco Milivinti, the current leader at this stage of the game, will try to repeat his performance from Sestri, even if the terrain of Punta Ala is less favourable to down-hillers. The spotlight will be on Denny Lupato, fresh from the victory at the European Enduro Series on the trails in Tuscany and one of the strongest favourites. Manuel Ducci and Alex Lupato will not just hold on and wait to see what happens, really pumped after the Chilean experience at the Enduro World Series. After ten days of training and racing at 3000 meters of elevation, they could easily play their fitness card, great bonus for the really physical challenge of Punta Ala.

But the field is strong and there are many potential victors, with Vittorio Gambirasio and Davide Sottocornola well determined to get the top positions and to break Andrea Bruno’s record of being the only Superenduro winner here in Punta Ala, in the past 3 editions. Not to forget the new generation of riders, among which Nicola Casadei, another growing-fast rider. Punta Ala is going to offer a truly spectacular event, made even more exciting by the addition of new trails, more balanced in its challenges, tough and, quite likely, only decided by the last stage of the round.

Figuring out what is going to happen among the Ladies is not going to be any easier, keeping in mind that they will race before the men, as they did in Sestri Levante. The fight within the Rossin-Pastore-Macheda trio will kick-off, but this scenario could get messy again as it happened at Sestri Levante. Louise Paulin will be in Punta Ala and you can bet she is going to fight for the victory.
Talking of race format: the race will be split into two days, with Special Stages both on Saturday and Sunday. Both the Service Park and the Closed Park at the end of the first day of race will be in place again. You will find on-line very soon the race schedule with the description of the new trails. Only then it will be possible to have a better idea about what will happen and to figure out the likely winner.

Most of the riders have already taken note of this appointment on their agenda and many have been using the pre-registration system to move ahead a few positions at the start line.
Superenduro keeps offering the most challenging battle field for national and international riders, the only true theatre where it is possible to appreciate the forces coming together, where the public is the witness of a highest-level combat.
