Superenduro PRO4 Sauze d’Oulx – Good to go with the finals and the new edits!

You cannot wait to ride the longest Special Stage ever, with the biggest elevation drop in the history? Are you champing at the bit to chase your rivals in the new Supermountain? Don’t worry! Just a few days before the fourth and last round of the Superenduro Powered By SRAM, which will assign the titles of the 2014 edition here at Sauze d’Oulx. A race that promises to be epic and, due to the massive use of chair lifts, suitable for everyone.

This Alpine event – Alpine with capital A – has changed a little bit on dates, moving until the start of September. Which is great, as the nature in the high part of the valley Val Susa will be even more amazing by then. The Superenduro staff has put together a number of changes and, as for tradition, Sauze has been chosen as a test-location. Don’t miss the final round of such a fantastic edition of the Superenduro Series, just enter here the online registration, there are still a few spots available and time to enter until Thursday.

There will be two days of racing and no less than seven Special Stages to decide the winners, with the additional Supermountain race in its new spectacular format. Without the mass start this time: each athlete will be at the start line by their selves, on the base of the position in the general ranking after the seventh Stage. The final manche is going to be a pursuing race and the first rider to reach Piazzale Miramonti will be the Supermountain winner. A thrilling race, where the first bikers to ride will feel all the pressure of the back of the grid, while the last ones will be excited by hunting the riders in front of them. All of this made even tastier by the public cheering, down to the finish line.

This match will start Saturday 6 of September, with the Registration Desk running between 8 and 12 of the morning. The technical briefing will be held at 12.30 before the race start, scheduled at 13.30. Three Special Stages will take place on the first day: “The Goat”, “La più lunga del mondo” and “Flight to Bali”, and most of the transfers will use chair lifts. On Sunday 7 September the bikers will be back in the saddle with “The goat” and “Flight to Bali”, followed by the time check and again on “La più lunga del mondo”, before closing with “Flight to Bali”. Time then for even stronger excitement with the epic Supermountain race, which will close the round with a pursuing match.

We are all very curious to see the final results, both for men and ladies, even if it will be hard to put in trouble the actual leaders. For Marco Milivinti keeping a good advantage above the rivals should be pretty easy and virtually even just a good placement will be enough for him, thanks to his strong advantage on Alex Lupato. Same thing for Louise Paulin, who won already three times and will not leave much hope to Valentina Macheda. However, the race will be exciting especially thanks to the riders who have not been part of the game yet. Let’s see what will happen with the Shucksmith brothers, Greg Callaghan and Karim Amour, and with any other big name that could be present. Not to forget for the ladies that bikers such as Caty Wintom, Gabby Malloy and Nina Rupnik will also be present.
