In Massa Marittima everything is ready to welcome 400 riders from 12 different countries who made it to Tuscany to be part of the great comeback of the Italian Superenduro Series.
The go! time for the RockShox Massa Marittima Superenduro Powered by SRAM round is now really close. Only 2 days before the start is given from the Cathedral of Massa Marittima, on Sunday morning at 8:00 o’clock. Saturday will be the official practice day on the fantastic trails manicured by The Trail Brothers and Massa Vecchia Bike Resort crew. In the afternoon at 4.30pm a Press Conference about the beginning of Superenduro season will be held at the Palazzo dell’Abbondanza, just behind the paddock area.
After last week’s release about the racecourse and the opening of the tracks for an early recon, riders’ feedback about the quality of the trails have been great. The racecourse is fun from start to finish, pretty much all of it cut out to suit those with good handling skills, full of flow but never too fast and not to be underestimated for this reason.
It will be a tough battle for the four hundred riders who entered the race. In the best Superenduro’s tradition, the level has been set very high, with the best Italian riders ready to fight for top positions and to score the first championship points facing a number of riders from other countries, no less then twelve (Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, France, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, the Republic of San Marino and of course Italy).
Spectacle and adrenaline are assured at Massa Marittima during this coming weekend thanks to Superenduro powered by SRAM; we are sure that the warm Tuscan public will crowd around the PS tracks for a massive cheer. Especially Special Stage six, the last and decisive one, with the finish line in the heart of Massa Marittima where the riders will plummet down into the paddock area straight in front of the Cathedral.
But this will be the last scene of the action: there is still a whirlwind of emotions to go through and a lot of kms to put under the wheels.
Just don’t stay up too late for the gig of rock music with the live concert of “21 grammi” and “Tito Blues Band” in the Cathedral square on Saturday 19th 😉 Much fun is awaiting you the morning after, on Sunday, when you will roll down the start ramp of the first round of Superenduro when you will roll down the start!
