The Italian Enduro Championship will take place in Pogno (NO), 9th and 10th June. The Superenduro Series Powered by SRAM will hold its third PRO round of the year and by the end of the weekend the coveted tricolour jerseys will be assigned. This is only the second year of the national championship, last year it was held at Limone in Piemonte and this year it returns to the same region.
For this race there will be a slight change of format and racing will begin on Saturday. Instead of a short prologue, riders will get straight into the race and then there will be three full special stages on Sunday. Although for this one stage uplifts are permitted – it won’t matter how you get to the start, only that you get there on time. This first stage will then finish right in the very heart of the town of Pogno.

The special stages are now being prepared and will be taped and signposted ready for next weekend. MTB Dei Gufi, Team Locca and Cicobikes are working together to make the preparations for the race. Racing will be over 42 kilometres, with a total of 1,600m of descending, taking in some of the best enduro trails in Italy. On Sunday the public will be able to see enduro racing first-hand as a free shuttle to take people out to the stages will be running.

With the race running over his home trails, Davide Sottocornola will surely be out to regain the red leaders plate he lost to Andrea Bruno in the last round. Bruno is also the defending Italian champion and a racer as experienced as him will not go down without a fight. Alex Lupato has form on his side after winning at last weekends Palazzuolo sul Senio sprint race. Manuel Ducci and Andrea Pirazzoli will also be hungry to get onto the podium for the first time this season. Nobody should forget the Brits either, Al Stock could almost taste the win at the last round and Paul Aston will want a strong performance to put his mechanical woes behind him. Swiss rider Michale Sharer cracked the top ten last time out, can he go one better? Of course, only an Italian can be crowned Italian champion, but the battle for the series will is looking tough.

It will also be worth watching the Swiss twins, Anita and Carolin Gehrig, who have been doing well in the German enduro series this year.
Riders are coming also from Germany with the mtb-news.de journalist, Max Schumann, that in Finale last year placed in good overall position, the Evoc rider, Tobias Woggon e Julia Hofmann, official Cube rider.
